From experimentation to process: the ongoing phase at PERFOLAB Genova

PERFOLAB Genova is currently unfolding as an intensive and immersive space for experimentation, collaboration, and interdisciplinary exchange within the TRANSPER project.

Following an energetic start, the second day (14 April) marked a shift from exploration to deeper engagement, beginning with a Movement & Interactive Machine Learning session led by Grigore Burloiu (University of Genoa), where embodied practices intersected with AI-driven systems. This was followed by Directions for projects & Individual brainstorming, guided by Oscar Ardaiz (Public University of Navarra) and Gualtiero Volpe (University of Genoa), supporting participants in shaping their ideas into more defined project concepts. In the afternoon, a Motion capture and analysis workshop led by the Casa Paganini team provided hands-on experience with key tools and methodologies in digital performance, before the day concluded with a kick-off moment by Eleonora Ceccaldi (I. L. Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film) and an augmented walk, inviting participants to explore the relationship between space, technology, and perception in a situated and reflective way.

As the programme progressed into Days 3 and 4 (15–16 April), the focus shifted to sustained group work. Participants were fully immersed in collaborative development, working intensively across multiple sessions to refine their ideas, test approaches, and co-create outcomes. These days are characterised by continuous teamwork, iterative processes, and ongoing dialogue, supported by regular feedback moments and informal exchanges.
