TRANSPER ORGANIZES THE SECOND “PERFOLAB PILOT” IN GENOA

From 13 to 17 April 2026, the TRANSPER project PERFOLAB Genova will be held at Casa Paganini – InfoMus, bringing together students and educators from Italy, Portugal, Romania, and Spain around a central question: what happens when art and technology meet in the name of human well-being?

PERFOLAB Genova explores the emerging field of cultural welfare, the idea that artistic and cultural experiences can actively promote health, inclusion, and social cohesion. The pilot invites participants to look critically at the role of technology in this process: when does it open doors, and when does it quietly close them? Digital exclusion, algorithmic bias, information overload, and social isolation are just some of the shadows that technology can cast, even when it is designed with the best intentions.

Students from videogame design, acting, digital humanities, and computer engineering will work in international interdisciplinary teams to develop concepts for interactive installations, performances, games, or documentary works, imagining new ways for art to inspire and humanize the technologies that mediate our relationship with culture and heritage.
